China,Taiwan Direct Shipping Service Starts After Six Decades Posted: 15 Dec 2008 11:44 AM CST
Direct shipping service between China and Taiwan has commenced on December 15, after almost six decades. The services were stopped due to civil war in 1949. The direct shipping service across the 160 kilometres wide Taiwan Strait, is expected to boost further the annual bilateral trade of approximately US$100 billion.
